Service Pin Plan
Rules and Regulations Governing the Award and Distribution of Service Pins
In adopting the Service Pin Plan it was decided to select five classes of pins to be awarded to employees who have been in continuous service for various periods as follows
A - 10 years and less than 15 years - Gold Service Pin
B - 15 years and less than 20 years - Gold Service Pin w/ 2 pearls
C - 20 years and less than 25 years - Gold Service Pin with 2 rubies
D - 25 years and less than 30 years - Gold Service Pin with 2 Emeralds
E - 30 years and over                         Gold Serivce Pin with 4 diamonds

When an employee advances from one class to another he or she will be required to return the lower class pin or pay the cost thereof.


About the 5th page.......each person listed in the book would have had their name printed in the book.
For example - My Great Grandfathers page says.......
William A. Johnson
Under the rules of the Company, is accredited with continuous service from Feb 1 1912 and is awarded a service pin in accordance with the rules governing the presentation of the same.  Dated at Independence Kansas, this 1st day of Sept A.D. 1928     W.F. Gates
